WEIGHT LOSS

WE WANT TO PARTNER WITH YOU FOR YOUR LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION USING OUR "FIRST LINE" THERAPY APPROACH.

Weight Loss

Unfortunately, losing weight never seems to be as easy as gaining weight. People try for months and years, usually unsuccessfully, to lose weight. From revamped exercise routines to various diets, almost every conceivable method for losing weight is attempted at some point in an individual’s life. However, without understanding the factors that lead to weight gain, and without knowing the factors that might make losing weight difficult, shedding unwanted pounds can seem nearly impossible.

Obesity is a condition affecting the vast majority of the people in the United States. Poor diet, lack of exercise, sedentary lifestyles, and genetic traits are all contributing factors in being overweight. In addition to increasing self-confidence and mental health, weight loss also has many physical benefits. Losing weight can reduce your risk for heart disease, help you bring your high blood pressure under control, decrease your likelihood of developing Type 2 diabetes, and increase your energy levels. Getting yourself to the recommended weight based on your body frame and height is an important factor in improving your overall health.

But, again, losing weight is rarely simple. While crash dieting and increased exercise may help you lose some weight initially, these techniques rarely help you keep the weight off long term. At Brio Functional Medicine, our first step is to help you determine the cause of your weight gain so that we can help you effectively lose weight. For some people, poor diet and unhealthy food choices may be the primary issues. For others, a hormone imbalance, a thyroid condition, or an issue with your metabolism may be to blame. At Brio, we will assess your history, recommend appropriate testing to determine the factors contributing to your weight gain, and work with you to create a plan to help you achieve healthy, lasting results.

These plans will include retooling your diet to help you overcome existing nutritional deficiencies, exercise, and periodic check-ups to provide assistance and encouragement as you seek to meet your goals. We believe in treating the whole person and partnering with you to improve your health and well-being. When you are ready to achieve your goals and better yourself, call Brio Functional Medicine. Our team would be honored to partner with you.
